  • Templates and Skin Info

    Hello Simracer,

here you can find the templates for the Dubai 24H event:
    Template Download
    Skin Upload

The templates were built so that they can be used from Photoshop CS2 without any problems.

The numberplate is integrated and the position may not be changed. In addition, some vehicles are still integrated a logo, this may also not be changed / moved!
Additional numbers at the front or rear of the car may be set voluntarily.

The window files will be assigned uniformly by the SRC, therefore submitted "window.dds" will not be included.

Deadline for sending in the skins is Tuesday the 1rd July 2023 // 20 o'clock (CEST).
    Please send the following three files packed in a ZIP/ RAR/ 7z: alt.dds (main-skin) + alt_region.dds (material overlay) + alt.json (material-settings)

Please note the rules for painting:

The size of the start numbers must not be changed or moved on the vehicle.
Also the already applied advertising must not be covered or changed!
On the driver's and "passenger's side" must be attached in each case a start number (after
    default).

The skins are to be uploaded here: Skin Upload

    Special requirements
The design used must not violate netiquette, be offensive and/or offend other people.
It must not violate applicable law or morality.
Cigarette advertising, even in modified form, is prohibited.
By sending the used design to the race management, the drivers assure to have respected possible copyrights of picture material, logos, advertisement or the whole skin and not to violate possible copyrights lying on it.
The race management reserves the right to reserve further areas of the vehicles for its own lettering or sponsors in order to be able to place our/their advertising there.

    Material System
at Studion397 there is a detailed tutorial about the new Material System (click me)

Additionally the colleagues from P1-Gaming have made a very good tutorial video about the new system:

    What is there to consider?
    - in all templates there is a region group, for this please note the following:
The green layer will be used for our numberplates, they will be in "matte paint" state later. (illuminated at night). You may use this layer, too - but only in small amounts!
The white layer is used for carbon parts, for these you can decide later if you want to use matte carbon fiber or shiny carbon fiber
the other three layers blue, red and black can be used as you like to create the desired material effects
please note: the "flakes" - their size and color - are only valid on the black region-map!
if you don't like the new system at all, you can also use the predefined region.dds, which I packed in the *.Zips, then the rest of your car is classic shiny
You can only adjust the materials via the new UI. For this you have to activate the Openbeta version of rF2. The known settings-html is now embedded in the UI.

please send your skins with unique vehicle number, and name the skins according to the rFactor2 default. Example Mercedes_AMG_GT3_2017_XX (XX= vehicle number) Best packed in a Zip/ RAR archive.

Furthermore the old infos are valid for you:

Have fun with painting, I am at your disposal for any questions.
